I am planning on purchasing a laptop and I would like to make sure that is will be able to run the color separation 3d.  Better yet would be full compatability with the icatcher.  Does eonreality maintain a list of compatible laptops or minimum specs for icatcher?

Support

EON runs generally better on Nvidia-based graphics chips, meaning that all visual effects are supported and it's the most tested configuration.

Even though Intel graphics chips have been improving the recent years, it's still lacking performance and quality in the OpenGL driver, so we would not recommend buying a laptop with only this graphics chip on.

I'm not sure which stereo technology you are referring to with "the color separation 3D", is it the red/green image pairs you mean? EON does not have any direct support for this type of stereo.

If you plan to use the laptop with ICatcher (and presumably active/passive OpenGL stereo), you would need a Quadro model of the graphics card. Dell sells laptops with these chips on, as well as some vendors. Please check the Nvidia web page for latest products.

The next EON version will have support for 64-bit, so it's wise to pick a 64-bit OS when you are buying a new computer anyway, as it will give you access to more memory, which is most needed when you are dealing with 3D. As a minimum, we recommend at least 4GB  RAM for authoring work. If you just use  the laptop for presentation and playback of EON applications, you can get by with less, but at least 2GB.

For more information about the system requirements of EON, please consult the EON manual.

Excellent.  That definitely answers my question
